Gratitude for This Place
And All We Do Together

This Sunday we will dedicate all the stewardship responses received, those still to come, and those still in your hearts. Thank you to all those who hosted and attended coffee parties over the last few weeks, and all those who shared their Sunnybrook stories during worship. This special time we dedicate to stewardship each fall gives us an opportunity to review our accomplishments and our challenges over the past fiscal year.

We have a lot to be thankful for. Your weekly and monthly contributions and volunteer hours have enabled us to serve our community with weekly worship, programs in faith formation, outreach, and congregational care. Together we have been able to support First Third Ministry (no easy task these days) and begin a landscape project that cares for our environment. We are reaching out into our community in new and creative ways. We are making connections with people of all ages and extending genuine invitations to be part of the Sunnybrook family. We draw the circle wide for folks to be supported and for everyone to share their gifts.

Now, we turn our attention to the path before us in the coming year. We need to set our prioritiesand build a budget to guide us. Your continued commitment to our life and work together enables us to be a lifegiving presence here in Red Deer, and to so many more online. It is our mission to be here for one another as a supportive, caring community of faith. Our society needs spiritual support and inclusive, lifegiving theology now more than ever.

I am so grateful to be part of this Sunnybrook family, responding faithfully to the challenges of everyday living. We don’t always get it right, but we are willing to adapt until we find a better way. I look forward to seeing how we meet the challenges in the year ahead with all our gifts and resources working together.

Peace and joy,

Nancy
