Many Hands Make
Light Work
John Heywood

Have you ever had a good look at your hands and reflected on the tasks they have accomplished in a day? My guess is that many of those tasks were for someone other than yourself. When we pause to think about it, it is amazing what we can accomplish when we work together. Whether it’s for family, church community, or an interest group in the broader community, it is in our nature to offer a helping hand.

I have to say that I have heard the proverb, “many hands make light work,” quoted to me many times over the years. I especially heard it when I was being asked (not so subtly I might add) to help the family with a certain task so we could all get out the door quicker and on to the next great thing. No regrets though, as there is a lot of truth in those words. I see them played out around here all the time.

This Sunday is Volunteer Appreciation Sunday. It’s a wonderful opportunity to show our gratitude for the many hands, feet, and hearts, that bring to life our Sunnybrook vision and mission. So, thank you for all you do, and for all you dream of doing, as we all find meaningful and creative ways to offer our gifts to the life and work of this faith community.
If you are looking for an opportunity to become more involved in our worship, programming, outreach, or congregational care, please let us know. Because . . . you know what they say . . . “many hands make light work!”

Peace and joy,
Nancy
