Lead Me Into Temptation

There is a puzzling detail in this story. It says that Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted. Why would the Spirit lead Jesus into temptation if temptation is a bad thing? That suggests that temptations have something to teach us. We may need to wrestle with the tempter until, like Jacob wrestling with the angel, we receive a blessing.
